Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
The short version:
- Your subtitle files and videos never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party cookies.
- We only hold your account details, your usage count and the record of your purchases.
What we collect
- Account — when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. That is how we identify you and link your purchases to you.
- Usage — how many minutes of extraction processing your account has used (for the included free minutes and any credits). Counts are kept on our servers as a simple number.
- Purchases — when you buy a plan or credits we store your Creem customer ID and the status of your subscription (for example: active, renews on a date, cancelled). We do not receive or store card numbers or other payment details — Creem, our merchant of record, handles payments directly.
- Local preferences — theme and language choices are saved in your browser’s local storage and never sent anywhere.
What we never collect
- The subtitle files and videos you work with. Processing is local; nothing is uploaded.
- Behavioral analytics, page-view statistics, advertising identifiers or fingerprinting data.
Cookies
The only cookie we set is the sign-in session cookie, and only when you sign in. It identifies your session; it is not used for ads or analytics. Signing out removes it.
Who helps us process data
- Google — sign-in only.
- Creem — payments, invoices, taxes; Creem is the merchant of record for your purchase and its own privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of the site.
We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else.
Local Subtitle Kit’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep it
Account, usage and purchase records are kept while your account is active, and for as long as needed to satisfy tax and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time — billing records that the law requires us (or Creem) to keep are the only exception.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to processing. Write to support@subtoolkit.com and we will handle it within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above.
