Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 October 2026
These terms govern your use of Local Subtitle Kit (“the service”), a set of subtitle tools that run entirely in your web browser, available at subtoolkit.com. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
The service is operated by Local Subtitle Kit, the brand under which subtoolkit.com is run. You can reach the operator at support@subtoolkit.com.
1. What the service does
The service provides tools for working with subtitle files — extracting subtitles from video, converting, editing, translating, merging and formatting subtitle and text files. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your files are not uploaded to us and are not processed on our servers. Accounts, usage metering and payments are the only server-side parts.
2. Your account
You can sign in with your Google account. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account, and for keeping access to your Google account secure. You must be old enough to enter into a contract in your country to purchase a plan.
3. Plans, billing and renewal
- Starter — every signed-in account includes 120 minutes of extraction processing, free of charge, once.
- Pro (subscription) — monthly or yearly. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page; your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and does not renew.
- Credit packs — one-time purchases of extraction time. Credits do not expire and are used whenever you do not have an active subscription.
All purchases are processed by Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ), acting as our merchant of record. Creem handles the checkout, the payment details, the tax and the invoice; your receipt comes from Creem. Prices are shown in US dollars, with local-currency amounts and applicable taxes calculated at Creem checkout according to your location.
We may change prices for future billing periods; we will tell you before a change affects you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
4. Refunds and cancellation
Cancelling is always available and always self-service. Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service to infringe anyone’s copyright or other rights, or to process material you have no right to use;
- attack, overload, probe or attempt to circumvent the security or the metering of the service;
- resell the service or provide it to third parties as your own;
- use the service where doing so would break the law that applies to you.
6. Your files and your content
Your subtitle files, videos and everything you process stay on your device — we never receive them and therefore never claim any rights over them. You keep all rights to your content.
7. Our software
The service, its design, text and code remain ours. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the service; they do not transfer any ownership.
8. Availability, warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running well, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including your statutory consumer rights).
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material we will announce it on this page and update the date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (mainland), without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms removes the mandatory protections of the law in the country where you live, and you can always bring a claim before your local courts.
